Women entrepreneurs under 18 will also get grants

As the second gift of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's 75th birthday, a grant of 5 crore taka was given to 1000 smart women entrepreneurs from iDEA project. At Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) Hall of Fame on Thursday afternoon Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury handed over the dummy check of this grant to the women entrepreneurs of E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB), Women and E-Commerce (WE), Ananda Mela, Women Entrepreneurs of Bangladesh (WEB), SME Foundation, BRAC, Thengamara Mahila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS) and ekShop of a2i. Speaking as the chief guest at the smart women entrepreneur grant giving ceremony, the speaker said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has made Bangladesh a role model for women's empowerment and gender equality. In the progress of women in Bangladesh, the ICT department has played an outstanding role in the She-power project for 78 thousand women. She said, Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the pioneer of women empowerment in Bangladesh. She established Bangladesh as a shining example or role model of women empowerment, women rights and gender equality all over the world. Through her tireless hard work and visionary thinking, sensibility and all, the women of Bangladesh have visibly advanced in every field. She commented that Bangladesh, like the rest of the world, is going through the golden age of free information technology. Finally, she advises us to embrace information technology in every aspect of our work and ensure its utmost use in every sphere for our own development. ICT Department Senior Secretary NM Zeaul Alam and e-CAB President Shomi Kaiser spoke on the occasion while the State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak presided over the ceremony. While speaking as the President, the State Minister said that Bangabandhu has highlighted the importance of women's financial ability in the real empowerment of women through his writings. And Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is implementing it. She is the guru of women's creativity. e-CAB President Shomi Kaiser has turned e-commerce into a lifeline during the Covid-19 pandemic through the implementation of various initiatives taken by her. WE Founder Nasima Akhter Nisha has played an inimitable role in women's entrepreneurship. As a result of their work, Suha an under 18 girl of my Singra became a successful freelancer and entrepreneur. So Palak, who is self-educated in 'Commonsense Engineering', announced to give this grant to teenage entrepreneurs below 18 years of age through technology in the future. He also promised to donate 2 women entrepreneurs in each parliamentary seat as suggested by the chief guest. Palak said, we will create 25,000 smart women entrepreneurs with 5 months of training in four departments from the 250 crore taka given by the Prime Minister. Women and E-Commerce Trust (WE) president Nasima Akhtar Nisha said in the welcome speech that it will not take much time to fulfill the goals of Smart Bangladesh. Our women entrepreneurs took advantage of Digital Bangladesh to turn around after the Covid-19 pandemic. By proving that we women can do it, we will build a smart Bangladesh. Greeting all the women entrepreneurs, e-CAB president Shomi Kaiser said that this initiative has been taken to bring e-commerce from Facebook to mainstream which will help women to prove that they can do it. Niaz Mohammad Zeaul Alam said, among the many initiatives of the honorable Prime Minister, the architect of the current golden era of Bangladesh, I think the implementation of the Digital Bangladesh vision is the biggest success. In the event, a Jamadani sari and a boat were given to the chief guest, a bonsai tree was given to the special guests and a sailing boat was handed over to e-CAB founder president Rajib Ahmed as a symbol of the riverine Bangladesh.
